In-industry achievements :
- - Broke All India Record of Steel Production on 10 – Ton Electric Arc Furnace (1974).
- - Surpassed all previous targets and brought down rejection percentage of field cable at OCF, Chandigarh and iron castings at Ordnance Factory, Muradnagar (U.P.) to record low level, thus, setting new bench mark in production at OCFC and OFM.
- - A strong “5S” & Safety culture was developed at Ordnance Factory, Muradnagar (OFM) as well as Ordnance Cable Factory, Chandigarh (OCFC) both inside & outside factory premises.
- - Pioneer to start 3- months Specialized Training Courses on Maintenance of CNC Machines for newly recruited CM Gr.- II (Electronics) at newly formed OFIL, Dehradun initiated by OFB to control staggering losses of Rs. one crore each month due to frequent breakdowns of CNC machines (1996). The Institute was awarded Ordnance Factory Board Best Efficiency Trophy by DGOF & Chairman ( 2003-04).
- - Built up TQM movement at O.F.Katni. The factory stood class apart by scoring “A” grade (2004) against earlier “E” grade(1999) in quality rating as per OFB criteria on TQM Road map (2005). The value of issues of defense stores duly inspected and dispatched by O.F.Katni to the consignees was 141.31 crores which was highest in its history (2002-03).

- - Built up TQM culture at MPF Ambarnath. Store section of the factory was made a role model section for all Ordnance Factories to emulate. MPF scored
‘A’ rank every year in quality rating as per OFB directives on TQM Road map ( 2005 onwards). All time record value of issues amounting to Rs. 116 crores duly inspected and dispatched by MPF to consignee ends (2009).

Milestones set :
- - Introduced and implemented zero level defect on defence items (Hand grenade, A.P. mine, Plug top castings) in 1983 at OF, Muradnagar as well as Field cable in 1990 at Ordnance Cable Factory, Chandigarh
- - As Management Representative, prepared Ordnance Cable Factory, Chandigarh on the path of Total Quality Management & was instrumental in getting coveted IS/ISO 9002 certificate within a record period of 5-6 months in 1994, thus, bringing laurels to first cable manufacturing unit not only in India but in the world. Because of this strong foundation, OCFC bagged 1.2 crore order from World Bank aided Ranjit Dam Project in Punjab (1995). The factory was selected for “International Star Award for Quality” in Gold Category for the year 2002 by M/s Business Initiative Directions (BID), Spain which was presented in 27th International Star Award Convention held at Geneva ( October, 2002).
- All India Trade Apprenticeship Scheme was introduced for the first time & implemented in OCFC (1991). A new HRD center was established (1995).
- - Quality Circle “Prerana” bagged 3 International awards creating history namely, meritorious presentation award, medal for best poem writing extempore on implementation 5S principles as well as Appreciation medal on slogan writing related to quality aspects at 27th International Quality Control Circle Convention held at Lucknow (India) wherein 382 quality circles were presented. The conference was attended by 2500 registered delegates representing 18 countries namely, Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore etc. (December 2002).
- - As Management Representative of Ordnance Factory, Katni, maintained & sustained certification of IS/ISO 9001 w.e.f. 22.03.1999 to 24.07.2005. As Quality Manager, 4 Testing Laboratories acquired NABL accreditation (ISO/IEC 17025:2005 (E) which were maintained & sustained.. Dr.Ajit Kumar Sarkar, Head , Analytical Chemistry Section/National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi along with fellow assessor observed Laboratory Quality System so fool proof that they could not raise even a single NCR during NABL audit. The efforts made were complimented by them through an Appreciation letter (2002).
- - MPF was prepared and applied for Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Award – 2007 and the factory successfully qualified for the finals
- - OKAT & MPF topped in the organization in respect of vendor capacity verification & new vendor development.
- - “Disaster Management Plan” was conceived & implemented at Ord. Fy. Muradnagar, Ord. Cable Fy. Chandigarh, Ord. Fy. Ambarnath, MPF Ambarnath & Ord. Fy. Ambajhari.
- - As MR, MPF was prepared for EMS certification. The factory was recommended for IS/ISO 14001: 2004 on 20th Dec.08 and was awarded prestigious certificate on 25th Feb.2009
- - The then Hon. Justice B.N. Srikrishna, Chairman, Sixth Central Pay Commission alongwith other team members Shri J.S.Mathur, Smt. Sangeeta Singh, Joint Secretary, Shri Alok Saxena, Director highly appreciated the initiatives taken by MPF unit for achieving organizational excellence through transformation of better quality systems and public service delivery while submitting their final report to the Govt. of India in March, 2008 appearing on Page 267-269.
